Summary: Experience the Kalahari and Namib Deserts and the wildlife that inhabits these deserlet wonderlands. This tour will expose you to the arid west of the subcontinent where you will travel between South Africa and Namibia on road. It’s a tour for the seasoned nature lover, who loves open space and road travel through remote landscapes. You will see amazing and diverse birds and mammals on the wildlife adventure!
Cost is based on per person sharing, for groups of one to five persons. Groups of larger than five will be quoted on enquiry.

Key Wildlife: Hooked-lipped Rhino, African Lion, African Elephant, Spotted Hyaena, Honey Badger, Leopard, Southern Giraffe, Martial Eagle, Kori Bustard, Lilac-Breasted Roller and Lapped-faced Vulture.
Weather: Moderate winters and hot summers with temperatures of up to 40°C.

Departure and finishing point:
Start Cape Town, South Africa and finish Windhoek, Namibia.
Transit from Windhoek to Etosha: This trip entails a six hour drive from Windhoek to Etosha and back again in our tour vehicle.
Accommodation: We stay in comfortable guesthouses, bush chalets and three start lodges rooms which are serviced daily.
Vehicle: 4x4 double cabs or minibus-type vehicles, depending on group size.
Most of our meals are had at camp restaurants during this tour where breakfasts and dinners are catered for. Clients are responsible for their own lunches during the tour.
At Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park where we self cater. There will be a meal plan and we prepare our own meals each evening together. Breakfasts are very early and clients will be required to help themselves to cereals, fruit and coffee and tea each morning before our game drives. This part of the tour requires a degree of teamwork, since we are travelling n a remote park with limited facilities. Please read the terms and conditions section that relates to meals.
This “overland” tour covers a total distance of approximately 3000km through the western parts of South Africa and Namibia. Approximately half of this distance is travelled on gravel roads. The nature of this tour requires a high degree of drive time.
Morning wildlife viewing: 06:00 - 10:00, can vary.
Down time: 10:00 – 12:00. Stretch your legs in the safety of the camp. Watch birds and resident camp mammals. Take a swim in the pool, download your images and recharge your batteries.
Lunch: 12:00 - 13:00 in the camp restaurant.
Afternoon wildlife viewing: 14:00 - 18:00, can vary. Return to camp at sunset. Shower and dinner at camp restaurant, socialising and bed.
