Fangs and Feathers runs a short four day and three night birding and mammal tour to the diverse West Coast and arid Tankwa Karoo in the Western Cape of South Africa. Excellent semi-desert birding can be had within three hours of Cape Town and you can expect to see a high number of Fynbos and Karoo endemics for your lifelist. This tour starts and ends in Cape Town South Africa.
This unique tour focuses on Fynbos and Karoo endemic species. We make an early departure form Cape Town from your accomodation (07:00). We bird the West Coast National Park, Vredenberg Peninsula, Berg River estuary, Witzenberg Valley and Tankwa Karoo. A combination of walking, sitting-in bird hides and vehicle-based birding along the gravel roads is strategy we use. We have expert knowledge of the West Coast's Strandveld and Karoo's fauna and flora.
